These diamond sanding sheets for ceramics come with a Velcro backing, so they can be attached to our soft rubber sanding block. However, we’ve chosen a soft-touch fabric, so they can also be used directly with your fingers if you prefer. In some workshops, depending on the application, potters hold the thin diamond sheet by hand to access tight spots with more sensitivity.
Fine Grit
This version is fine grit, designed for polishing.
One option is to combine it with the coarse grit sheet: start with the coarse sheet to remove more material, then finish with the fine grit sheet for a smooth surface finish.
We recommend dampening the ceramic piece with water to improve sanding performance and extend the life of the sheet. That said, since it’s diamond, it can also be used perfectly dry and works on all types of clay bodies (stoneware, porcelain, etc.), including high-fired ceramics and hard glazes.
