Ceramic Sgraffito Tool DOUBLE NEEDLE & MICRO BALL
The DOUBLE NEEDLE & MICRO BALL sgraffito tool for pottery combines two sintered diamond tips: a fine conical needle tip and a small ball-shaped tip. Two complementary shapes for creating lines, incisions and details in slip, underglaze and clay.
Its double-ended design allows you to switch quickly between different marks without changing tools. The Needle tip creates fine, well-defined lines, while the Micro Ball tip produces smoother, rounded and more consistent grooves.
Precision Sgraffito Tool for Pottery
The conical Needle tip is ideal for drawing, outlining and creating precise incisions. Slightly changing the angle, pressure and working depth allows you to vary the resulting line:

The Micro Ball tip moves smoothly in different directions and can be used to create curves, small dots, textures and lines with a more consistent width:

Two Sintered Diamond Tips
Both ends feature sintered diamond tips, a highly wear-resistant material that maintains its effectiveness for longer.
For Clay Carving, Removing Slip and Creating Fine Details
This pottery carving tool can be used to:
- Remove slip or underglaze and reveal the clay beneath.
- Draw fine lines, curves and outlines.
- Create incisions, dots and textures.
- Carve small details into clay.
- Clean and refine specific areas of a design.
How to Use the Sgraffito Tool on Pottery
We recommend working on leather-hard clay, when the piece still contains some moisture but is firm enough to resist deformation.
Hold the tool like a pencil and begin with light pressure. Before working on the final piece, test it on a sample to check the width and depth of the line. Clean the tips during use to prevent clay, slip or underglaze from building up.
