Collection: Diamond grinding disc for potter´s wheel bats
Diamond Sanding Discs for Potter’s Wheel Bats
Attach these diamond sanding discs to your potter’s wheel bat (regardless of its material) and use the wheel’s rotation to repair, smooth, and polish ceramic pieces. They effectively remove hard spots in clay, level uneven surfaces, and fix wobbly bases so your pottery sits flat on a table. In some cases, they can even refine lids (like teapot lids) that don’t close or fit well. Simply adhere the disc to your bat, place it on the wheel, and let the motion help achieve a flawless, professional finish.

FAQs – Diamond Discs for the Pottery Wheel
1) What types of pieces are diamond abrasives for the wheel recommended for?
They are ideal for piece bottoms, bases, plates, and flat surfaces where the rotation of the wheel allows for fast and uniform sanding.
2) At what wheel speed should they be used?
At low speeds. Let the diamond and the wheel rotation do the work. There is no need to apply much pressure.
3) How are the discs attached or installed?
Very easily. There are two options: a) Attach the disc to the bats or wheel plates you use (it comes with an adhesive backing). b)Use it without the adhesive and secure it with our bat-gripping cloth. Simply wet the cloth and place the disc on top. Voilà!
4) Is it necessary to use water when sanding on the wheel?
It is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. Water reduces dust, cools the surface, and improves the final finish.
5) Which disc would you recommend for porcelain?
Preferably the polishing disc.
6) Can they be used to sand glazes after high-temperature firings?
Yes, without any problem.
