It is a claytrimming tool with a specific wing-shaped geometry.
Made from high-quality tungsten carbide (micrograin grade).
It features an innovative copper-colored wear-resistant coating—we were the first to bring this type of protection into the ceramics field. It performs very well even with highly abrasive clay bodies with lots of grog. The coating protects the cutting edge from abrasion, so there’s no need for frequent re-sharpening.
By combining micrograin tungsten carbide with this wear-resistant coating, this trimming tool is built to last for years.
Please note, however, that tungsten carbide does not tolerate sharp impacts. If it falls to the floor, it can break easily (because although it is much harder than standard steels, carbide lacks flexibility). In short: handle it with care, avoid drops or hard knocks, and it will serve you for a very long time.
Special geometry and sharpening for profiles and undercuts
The geometry and sharpening are the result of countless tests. It is ideal for trimming undercut areas and refining profiles: its wing shape reaches spots where other trimming tools can’t, leaving either smooth transitions or crisp edges. As you can see in the image, it has two sharpened edges: one straight side and one curved side.

Important note: In any case, this is not a trimming tool we would recommend for beginners or as a first option, as it is more specialized for the functions mentioned above—best suited for professional use.
