We named it “Whale” because the shape reminded one of our team members of a whale’s body. These ceramic glazing tongs can securely hold both small and large pieces, offering a clear advantage over standard decorating tongs by providing excellent support at the base of the clay item. Another benefit is the generously curved upper arm, which makes it easy to hold deep vessels when dipping them into the glaze.

Note

Due to the electrostatic powder coating applied to the entire surface, we recommend opening and closing the tongs several times before first use to remove any excess powder around the rivet, ensuring smoother movement. Over the years, you might also apply a bit of oil or CRC for basic maintenance.
